You can hear about Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden's resident ghosts, not forgetting the dragon, smugglers, monks and Vikings on a special spooky evening stroll, on Wednesday at 7pm. Ghost Stories at Fairhaven will be repeated on Wednesdays June 18, July 16 and August 20. Normal admission charges apply; please book in advance, call 01603 270449 or 270683.

SEAGULLS Children's Centre on Magdalen Way in Gorleston will hold a fete and fun day on Tuesday, May 27.

There will be face painting, handmade jewellery, books, toys, clothes and bric-a-brac, tombola, lucky-dip, hook the duck and name the rag doll.

And there are some fantastic raffle prizes on offer donated by Tesco, Pleasure Beach, SeaLife Centre, McDonalds, Early Learning Centre, Wroxham Barns, Palmers and many more.

The event, between 11am and 2pm, will see entertainment provided by Mr Jugglefun. To find out more call 01493 660090.

GREAT Yarmouth Lions Club in partnership with Hopton Parish Council is forging ahead making plans for this year's village fete on August 17. Spokesman Chris Stanley said: “The arena will be busy with many local acts and activities. Radio Broadland will be having competitions and giving away prizes and Chris and Michelle Baker will be organising a dog show which will feature dogs from all over East Anglia.” Great Yarmouth Brass Youth section has already been booked for a performance.
