FOLLOWING a six month break The Project is back tomorrow at Allen's Bar, Great Yarmouth with a new look, a new sound and three new members.

Jo Conley departed to concentrate on Aluminium Risk and has been replaced on vocals by Jan Bamber, who also appears with Norwich based Get Carter who have also supplied top bassist Paul Swatman. Drummer Tim Warnes said:

“Jan and Paul are old friends of ours and have slotted in perfectly. Filling the guitar slot was a major headache for the band until they got a call from Mike Jones. Mike was Lead Guitarist and song-writer with anglo-american band The Voice of the Beehive and saw chart success and Top of the Pops appearances with songs like 'Don't call me baby' and 'Monsters and Angels,' their album 'Let it Bee hitting No.13 in the UK album charts.”

Singer Kevin BJ Longman of Rock Doctors said: “Mike is an unassuming guy with no pretentions about him but he really comes to life with a guitar in his hands and has given us a gutsy edge we were lacking, oh and he's a fine guitarist too!”

The band is completed by Lou Warnes on keyboards and vocals. The band has another gig on Tuesday at top Norwich venue The Brickmakers.

The Project still produce songs with great harmonies but the now have a much rockier edge with songs from Muse, Aerosmith, The Foo Fighters, U2, Evanescence, QOTSA, Alanis Morissette, Chilli Peppers, and Skunk Anansie, but have retained some of the fun stuff from No Doubt, Scissor Sisters, Maroon 5, Ian Dury, and The Kaiser Chiefs.
