TICKETS for Gorleston Theatre Company's forthcoming production 42nd Street” have just gone on sale.

Director and choreographer Jayne King said: “The company is staging the hit musical at the Britannia Pier Theatre in Great Yarmouth, and it's the first time they have put on a production there for years. We really felt that it was time for the company to put on a large scale musical again. We've had a few years of doing smaller scale musicals or revue type productions, but we really needed to get back to having more people involved in a big show that would stimulate lots of interest from performers and audience alike.

“Once we had chosen to put on the show 42nd Street, we knew that we really needed a big venue, so we've been very fortunate to secure a booking at the Britannia Theatre in the lead up to the May Bank Holiday weekend period.”

42nd Street was originally a musical film made in America in 1933 and starred Bebe Daniels who later married Hollywood film mogul Ben Lyon. In the 1980s the musical became a huge hit on Broadway and in the West End. Featuring well-known songs such as “Lullaby of Broadway”, “We're in the Money” and the title song “42nd Street”, the show is an extravaganza of song and dance which will appeal to all musical lovers.

Tickets are available from the Britannia Theatre box office on 01493 842209 or online at www.britannia-pier.co.uk
