THERE'S a chance next month to enjoy a show by one of the finest theatre companies in the Britain and help two local charities.

The Potters Leisure Resort annual charity show on Saturday, March 21 is raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and Great Yarmouth and Gorleston lifeboat.

The Legends of Music show features numbers from stars including Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Queen, Elvis, The Beatles and Buddy Holly. With state of the art sound and lighting, outstanding musicianship, choreography and world class performances, it promises to be an occasion to remember.

All money from ticket sales will be matched pound for pound by resort owners Brian and Judy Potter.

The theatre company employs more than 50 full time entertainers, musicians and technical crew and is based in the Atlas Theatre, one of the finest theatres outside London.

Fundraising chairman for Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Ladies Lifeboat Guild Carol Horne said: “The Guild was founded in the early 1930s and since those days we have relied on the hard work and generosity of people like Judy and Brian Potter who have raised tens of thousands of pounds. We recently appointed Judy and Brian as vice-Presidents of the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft lifeboat station as a mark of respect for everything they and their family have done.”

The show will also raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support; in particular Macmillan nurses across Norfolk.

Bert and Maureen Collins are chairman and secretary, of the Great Yarmouth Macmillan Cancer Support committee.

“One in three people will get cancer; Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of these people and those who care for them,” said Maureen. “As treatments improve, more and more people are living with cancer in their daily lives. This means they need more than medical help, they also need practical, emotional and financial support.”
