TREASURE hunters will have plenty to keep them busy on Sunday at a special Ormesby, Scratby and California garage sale bonanza.

With 32 locations dotted across the parish, bargain hunters will have to find their way to the deals with a specially-designed treasure map.

The map, which can be picked up at Ormesby Village Centre for 1, will give a series of clues and point to the secret locations in the area, as well as posing riddles to be solved.

Following the hunt, after the winner has been announced, at 4.15pm, a new village flag will be unveiled.

Organiser and parish councillor Sean Goodman, said: “It will be a fun day, as everyone likes hunting for a bargain, and everyone likes following clues and treasure maps.

“It's a great way of keeping the kids entertained for next to no money, and there should be some great deals around.”

The mystery flag, which represents Ormesby, Scratby and California, will be unfurled for the first time by the Mayor, Michael Jeal, at Ormesby war memorial.

The design is by a local child following a competition that saw entries flood in from youngsters around the area.

There is still time to add your garage sale to the treasure map, and the fee is 5. To find out more, go to www.ormesby.org or www.scratby.org, or call parish clerk Pat Devlin on 01493 748439.
