IT will soon be sunshine and warmth - and carnival time!

Norfolk Broads Lions Club members are the organisers behind this year's Caister Carnival and Fete and have already turned their thoughts to summer and fun, giving people plenty of time to plan floats and costumes for the June 28 event.

The theme will be “Television Programmes”, so there is plenty to choose from, from The Royle Family to Dr Who, or perhaps a scene from the Queen Vic!

The carnival will again feature a parade and many other attractions on the playing field where it is hoped local charities will take a stand to help boost their own coffers.

Those who have taken part in the past will shortly be receiving entry forms and other information, said club secretary David Richardson.

He added: “The Fete is open to any voluntary organisation, commercial applications cannot be accepted. For health and safety reasons we must remind everyone, but in particular organisers of floats and other presentations, that they are responsible for the safety of all their participants, together with any insurance requirements.”

Anyone wanting to take part for the first time should contact David Amiss (bookings) on 01493 750705, or co-ordinator Harry Barker on 01493 369110.
