Inspired by the end of the First World War and anything that has happened since, people in Ormesby St Margaret have been arranging blooms to fit the theme.

Some 40 displays will fill St Margaret’s parish church on Saturday and Sunday.

Organiser Linda Shulver said she was impressed at the ingenuity being shown by entrants, with displays spanning nurse Edith Cavell, a war horse, the Red Cross and dig for victory.

She said it was also a chance for people to enjoy the church and for businesses to promote what they do.

Entry is free and there will be refreshments.

All proceeds will be donated to the church and people in the past had been “very generous”, Mrs Shulver added.

The flower festival will be officially opened by Yarmouth mayor Mary Coleman on the Saturday at 11am.
