HOPTON'S third annual village fete and carnival will take place on Sunday, August 16, from 11am until 4pm.

There will be a parade of local organisations at 10.30am starting from Hopton Holiday Village in Warren Road, along Station Road and onto the playing fields on the old Lowestoft Road.

The carnival will finish at about 11.15am, coinciding with the opening of the fete by Yarmouth mayor Tony Smith, which will feature more than 45 charity stalls as well as food, drink and ice cream stands.

In the arena crowds will be entertained by the Endeavour Rangers, EFX, TS Norfolk, Phoenix Karate, Wroxham Dog Agility and Charisma Twirlers.

There is also a dog show as well as fairground attractions including bouncy castles and fun carts.

Entry to the fete is free and there's a chance to win a flat screen TV with DVD as the main prize in the raffle being drawn at the end of the day.

The event has been organised by Great Yarmouth Lions Club and Hopton Parish Council.
