The event runs from 9am to 5.30pm at the Argos store in Great Yarmouth's Market Place

One employee is letting the chance to raise cash for charity go to her head - Samantha Worley is having her head shaved outside the store at 11am, aiming to raise �1,000. By Monday this week she already has �750 towards her target.

The head shaver will be Lorraine Higgins who lost her mother to a heart related illness five years ago.

Store manager Mark Archer is also getting in on the act, literally! Mark will be doing a drag act with two or three costume changes throughout the day. Stockroom manager Carl Robinson is having his legs waxed and the other staff are dressing up as naughty schoolgirls and boys.

-On Sunday, warden Stuart Burgess will be leading a walk to look at the exciting wildlife found in Fritton Lake, entitled Damsels and Dragons. It will be very hands on, with the opportunity to net and handle dragonflies and identify them. Wildlife will also be collected from the lake and emerged damselflies looked for in the reed beds.

Meet at Fritton House Hotel at 10.30am and the walk lasts for two hours and prices are �1 for adults and 50p for children and OAPs. For further details, call Fritton Lake on 01493 488288.

Fundraisers will be able to collect money for residential care home Mildred Stone House in Great Yarmouth at a table top sale next week. There will be a tombola and bric-a-brac at the fundraiser on July 18 between 2pm and 4pm. All funds will go to the Residents Amenity Fund. For more information, phone Sue Philp on 01493 855797.

-Reminiscences of a Prisoner of War in Stalag Luft 3 is the title of the talk to be given by Tony Overill at HeartCare's monthly social evening on Tuesday at The Burrage Centre, James Paget University Hospital 7.30pm. -High Jinx, a summer song dance and sketches show by Theatre East, will be performed at Flegg High school next Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm. There will be a licensed bar from 7pm, and table seating. Tickets are �4 in advance and are available from Naomi's florists, The Green, Martham, or �5 on the night (concessions �4).

-Great Yarmouth's Nelson's Monument will be open tomorrow and Sunday for guided tours between 10am and 4pm.

This Grade I listed monument was first opened in 1817 as a tribute to the life and achievements of Admiral Lord Nelson and stands 144 feet high. The tours give people the chance to climb all 217 steps to experience the breathtaking views.

Trained monument guides will be on hand to explain its construction, history and restoration. Tours are for two people, last 30 minutes and cost �6 per person. Spaces are limited but tours will be sold at the monument on the day, subject to availability.

-A fete will be held at St Peter's Church in Lingwood tomorrow featuring a homemade cake and preserves stalls. There will be games for children, tombola, raffle, bric-a-brac stalls and refreshments. The fete starts at 2pm and entrance is 20p with children going free. Proceeds will go towards the church.

-A summer flower show organised by the Gorleston Horticultural Society and the town's flower club will be held in a marquee on Gorleston Cliffs this weekend. The show will be open tomorrow from 2pm-9pm and on Sunday from 10.30am to 4.30pm. It will feature displays of sweet peas, roses, fuchsias, vegetables and fruit as well as a floral art section entitled Any Way You Like It. In one class the competitors will be given a box of flowers and accessories which they haven't seen before and stage an arrangement using all the materials. There will also be a plant tombola and refreshments.
