Africa Alive is coming to Great Yarmouth’s Time and Tide Museum for Wild Wednesdays over the Easter break.

Youngsters will have the chance to build their own shelters, and examine poos and pellets.

And in the afternoons from 2-4pm Africa Alive presents its Curious Creatures Roadshow.

The events are on April 3 and 10.

Meanwhile from Friday April 5 to 14, from 10.30-4pm an activity called Egg-ward Bound is asking youngsters to join an Easter egg hunt through history and win a newly hatched dinosaur toy to take home, while finding out about fish eggs and fossils.

On Tuesday April 2 Hoards of History from 10.30-12.30pm is about paperwork. Visitors can view and handle artefacts from the museum’s collection of extraordinary paper based objects and work with a paper engineer to discover how versatile a material, paper actually is.

On Monday April 1 The Tolhouse is hosting an event called Fools Gold from 11-4pm. Visitors can find hoards of smuggled treasure and trade for chocolate coins.

Then at the Elizabethan House Museum in South Quay an event on Thursday April 11 will lift the lid on foraging and how plants and herbs work. Called Signs of Spring - Historical Herbs and Potent Potions it runs from 10.30-4pm.

Curator Johanna O’Donoghue said: “At the museums we have an exciting and new programme of events for visitors to enjoy this Easter. I am looking forward to getting the collections out of store to show visitors up close how special and unique they are for the ‘Hoards of History’ events. The different themes of the Tuesdays give a brief snapshot into the wonderful stories and objects that are the museums collections. Being able to handle some of our objects will also hopefully give visitors a tangible sense of their history.”
