Then everything’s ready for An Evening of Burlesque at the Britannia Pier Theatre and the chance at the Great Yarmouth performance to win a masterclass in burlesque courtesy of the show’s organisers.

Entertainers, the promoters of An Evening of Burlesque, are conducting a nationwide search for the UK’s best dressed burlesque fan. Every show at every venue visited on the hit production’s 2011 tour will feature a competition to find the evening’s most glamorously-dressed member of the audience. The overall winner will win a personal lesson in the art of burlesque from the show’s stars.

Entertainers managing director Michael Taylor said: “The ladies have been dressing incredibly glamorously to come and see the show.”

Famously, burlesque is a mixture of decadence and fun. Audiences for An Evening of Burlesque are treated to comedy, magic, song and dance.

“Probably the scene from the production that raises the biggest cheer is when extroverts in the auditorium are invited on stage to learn how to ‘burlesque it” with the cast,” says Michael.

“Theatregoers are so elegantly dressed, very often it’s impossible to tell them apart from the stars of the show!”

The competition, says Michael, is a way of recognising the effort fans of the show have put into their appearance.

An Evening of Burlesque is at the Britannia Pier Theatre on Thursday, July 28, 8pm.
