If you have ever wondered how Santa’s reindeer fly then come and see Chalk Circle Theatre Company’s latest production, The Snow Child, a magical story from the frozen North.

The original 40 minute play inspired by a Russian folktale tells the story of Solver who tames the wild reindeer with ancient songs. Solver sets out on a quest to find the girl of his destiny and although he finds the Goose Girl tending fields of Snow Geese, their happiness is short-lived. What is it the Raven Woman wants? What is the terrible choice that Solver must make? Why does he lose his song and who is in the forest dreaming of a snow child?

The play written by Belona Greenwood and directed by Adina Levay is a highly stylized fusion of performance, music, puppetry and projection.

Chalk Circle Theatre Company based in Norwich has drawn together musician and composer, Cath Evans and the theatrical design talents of Moyses Gomes and Sophia Egler. Experienced actress Hetty Rance performs in a tour de force of puppetry, song, movement projection and lyrical storytelling.

Suitable for children four and upwards, The Snow Child is touring Norfolk and Suffolk on the run up to Christmas. It will performed at Great Yarmouth Library, Tolhouse Street, at 2.30pm on December 22.

Tickets are £6 each (Family tickets, 2 adults and 2 children £20.00) and can be reserved online, on 01603 621912 or paid for on the day. See www.facebook.com/chalkcircletheatrecompany for more.
