MUSICIANS, music teachers or workshop leaders who work in Great Yarmouth have the chance for free training and mentoring by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The SeaChange Arts backed programme is aimed at anyone who is currently or who wishes to work with music - contemporary or classical - and the community. You may work in a school, with a youth club, with adults or lead a community choir. Whatever level or whatever experience you have, the training is bespoke and personalised.
You will have the opportunity to visit the RPO's home base in London and work with a selection of RPO musicians and international composer, Tim Steiner, who has recently appeared as guest conductor for the BBC Two's Maestro Programme.
The training is on Saturday, October 25 and will focus on warm ups, workshops delivery and structure and evaluation.
Following this, you will shadow Tim and the RPO in delivering a community workshop and performance at the Hippodrome Circus in Yarmouth on October 29 and 30. This includes free entry into the performance on the October 30 - Four Corners in the Round - which will showcase a mixture of dance, film, repertoire from a chamber ensemble of the RPO and an orchestra made up entirely from scrap, recycled hand made musical instruments.
Further one to one mentoring and other opportunities to shadow community workshops delivered by the RPO across the region is available and can be built around existing commitments.

This free opportunity is available to up to eight local musicians and all travel expenses and subsistence will be paid for. The training is supported by the John Jarrold Trust and Sing Up and is offered as part of an exciting program of activities happening during the Out There Festival week beginning October 27 through to November 2.
