FESTIVE APPEAL: The Great Yarmouth Christmas Fayre committee is looking for local amateur performers to participate in this year's annual event in December.

Local groups and individuals with a talent or routine with a Christmas theme, from pantomime to carol singing, are invited to form part of the entertainment programme during the fair from December 1 to 5 in the Market Place, St Nicholas Church and the Priory Centre.

Town centre manager Jonathan Newman said: “We have seen a lot of people over the years progress through the amateur theatre groups to become professional entertainers and this sort of event is perfect for the stars of tomorrow to showcase their talents.”

Anyone wishing to take part should contact Great Yarmouth Christmas Fayre Committee, c/o Great Yarmouth Town Centre Partnership, Unit 5 Wilkinson's Yard, Market Gates, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2AX. Auditions will be held in early September. Pictured is a choir singing at one of the Christmas fairs.
