FLAMBOYANT 80s pop icon Boy George is to appear at the Britannia Pier in Great Yarmouth on November 1 as part of a 29 day UK tour.

It coincides with the release of his latest single, Yes we can. The 47-year-old singer, famous for his painted face and outrageous stage costumes, had a string of hits initially as lead singer with Culture Club and then later as a solo artist throughout the 1980s.

He will be featuring many of the hits he recorded including Church of the Poison, Mind Do You Really Want To Hurt Me? and what has become the band's most famous and lasting song, the classic Karma Chameleon.

His new show is entitled The Boy is Back in Town and his own life has been played out in spectacular public style since his meteoric rise to international stardom in 1982.

In 2001 he headed the production team of his hit musical Taboo Performances which later ran both in London and on Broadway throughout 2004. The score was also nominated for a Tony Award. He has recently written songs for Kylie Minogue and will later be touring North America for the first time in a decade as a solo artist
