Competitive Syllabus Changes for 2009

IF YOU missed the opportunity to take part in the 2008 St Andrew's Competitive Festival at Gorleston, details for prospective entrants to the 39th festival for 2009 are now available.

The festival will be held from Monday, March 16 to Saturday, March 28 and anyone interested in taking part is asked to note the following changes to the Syllabus:

A new “World Music Class” will be included for all instrumentalists playing instruments of other cultures.

There are different groupings for the singing trophies:

A new Adult Pop Song Trophy will be awarded.

There is an alteration to the Junior Unison Choir Class.

New classes for Pipe Organ will be held, using the organ in St. Andrew's Church, Gorleston.

A “Reluctant Organist Workshop” for any pianist wishing to try their hand at playing the St Andrew's Church organ is to be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009.
