Dereham jazz band DixieMix have returned from a UK Five Stadium Tour supporting Rod Stewart.

A popular jazz band are bringing their swinging sounds to Great Yarmouth after supporting legendary rocker Rod Stewart on a five stadium tour.

The members of DixieMix say they are “still on a high” after playing to thousands on the tour, which took them to Brighton, Stoke-on-Trent, Taunton, Blackpool and Falkirk.

The hard-working band, which is sponsored by Woodforde’s, said they were exhausted but elated.

Cornetist Simon Nelson said: “Being part of something so big and the great reception we received has been just phenomenal. The band are still on a high and have yet to come back down to earth.

“The whole trip was an amazing experience. We travelled over 2,000 miles and more than 130,000 people saw DixieMix perform over the five nights.”

And they are now bringing their show to Great Yarmouth, when they perform at the Minster.

The gig on Saturday, July 12 will support the fundraising drive to protect the fabric of the historic building. Tickets at £10 are available from Brahams in Market Row or on the door. The show starts at 7.30pm.
