Bands playing across the borough

ROCK ’n’roll trio The Revolves have two local gigs this weekend. Tonight they are at Allens Bar in Great Yarmouth and tomorrow they play their debut gig at the Queens Head in Burgh Castle. Andy, Luke and Craig will be playing hits from the ’50s and ’60s.

l OUT of the Ashes Band perform at Hopton Village Hall Bop tomorrow. The bops have been a huge success and the raffles helped to raise hundreds of pounds for the new village hall and other charities.

Out of the Ashes Band perform their mix of ’60s rock ‘n roll, pop, country and more. Coliwat will be staging his music quiz and of course everyone will bring their own drinks and picnic. Tickets £5. The band also plays at Broadland Sands Holiday complex in Corton on Saturday, March 26.

This is a new venue for the band, featuring Ron “Rock-it” Brown on vocals and rhythm guitar, lead guitarist “Coliwat” Colin Watson, Big “D” on bass and powerful new drummer Angi. Entry is free and the gig starts 8pm. To book the band or for further details call Mary or Ron on 01502 733747.

l THE Mike West Band hosts a fundraising party night at Burgh Hall Country Resort, Burgh Castle, on Saturday, March 26, from 7.30pm. Tickets, at £10, including a buffet, are available from Burgh Hall Country Resort, on 01493 780333. Money raised is being donated to the Stroke Association. Band member Mike Storeton-West and partner Louise Mitchell are driving to Mongolia next month to raise charity cash.

l NINE out of Ten Cats and Sutton Jazz Quartet will be helping raise money for Acle 1st Scout Group with a fundraising gig tomorrow.

Named Dance the Decades, it takes place at Village Hall, School Road, South Walsham, and runs from 7.30pm until late.

Tickets are £5 adults and £3.50 concessions and can be bought from Fairhaven Garden Trust in South Walsham. For more details email acle-scouts@hotmail.com.

l THIS evening sees the return to The Centurion Caister of top local singer Paul Davis. The gig marks a landmark in Paul’s singing career as he has now notched up over 20 years on the circuit.

The gig starts at 8.30pm with covers from the likes of Coldplay, Duran Duran and Depeche Mode.
