SIXTIES singing sensation P J Proby will be appearing at the Gold Weekender at the Vauxhall Holiday Park , Great Yarmouth in October

The 70-year-old American singer appeared on Radio Yare's Afternoon Delight , jointly produced by the Mercury.

SIXTIES singing sensation P J Proby will be appearing at the Gold Weekender at the Vauxhall Holiday Park , Great Yarmouth in October

The 70-year-old American singer appeared on Radio Yare's Afternoon Delight , jointly produced by the Mercury.

He recalled a time when Elvis Presley stayed at his mother's house and asked if he could be excused form the table after diner and promptly wiped his mouth on the Irish linen tablecloth.

He said: "Elvis wanted to go and sit in the living room with my step sister Betty whom he was dating, my mother couldn't believe it when the Irish linen was to put to that purpose!"

P J - Jim to his friends - will be appearing at the Gold Weekender between October 9-12 this year. He had a string of hits including Hold me, Together, That means a lot and two songs from West Side Story, Maria and Somewhere.
