TV star Andrew Stone, who became a hit on Sky One show Pineapple Dance Studios, will be hot stepping into Great Yarmouth on Tuesday to open a new performing arts academy.

The Dusmagrik Productions Academy (DPA), on Longs Industrial Estate, Gorleston, aims to provide education and training for varied groups of children and young people to prepare them for the future. It will be opened by the star at 2pm.

Andrew is a dance teacher at the central London studios which became popular after featuring in the documentary series about the dance studio which aims to give youngsters their first big break in showbusiness.

The show was first aired in February and made stars of the studio's employees, including Andrew and his colleague Louie Spence.

Although the documentary, narrated by ex-BBC newsreader Michael Buerk, will not be returning for another series, the show's production company Pulse Films is shooting a follow-up series about a broader spectrum of people trying to get their big break in showbusiness.

Stone has danced since he was eight years old, performing with Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears, and is currently working with his band Starman, teaching at Pineapple Dance Studios and being filmed for the follow-up series Showbiz.

Sky TV will be filming on the day of his visit for the series, which is airing in January 2011.

Andrew will also be teaching a jazz dance class costing £8 per person. The class must be paid for in advance.

Places are limited so if you would like to participate contact karen@dpadreams.co.uk as soon as possible.
