Puppet trainers off to Kenya

A LOCAL group are off to Kenya to train teenagers in puppeteering skills.

Rafiki's Crew Puppeteers will performing their final show before their trip tomorrow, Saturday, at Park Baptist Church in Great Yarmouth.

Rafiki's Crew Puppeteers will performing their final show before their trip tomorrow, Saturday, at Park Baptist Church in Great Yarmouth. They leave for Kenya on July 31.

The aim of the project is to train a group of Kenyan teenagers in puppet skills so they can take them into the poorest areas of Nairobi, the country's capital.

Rafiki's Crew are also supplying a full puppet stage and 10 puppets - with the total cost of the project coming in at £14,000, which the team had to raise themselves.

The show tomorrow is a puppet musical with a difference, telling the story of Jesus as told by a range of characters from the Bible.
