Producers of Lowestoft's first major panto in over half a century will be holding auditions this month for talented local children wishing to join the cast. UK Productions Ltd will be auditioning for Juvenile and Senior dancers for the production, Peter Pan, on Wednesday, August 13 at the Marina Theatre, Lowestoft.

Successful candidates will be required for rehearsals from Monday, December 1 for a full rehearsal and performance schedule up to January 2009 4, to be confirmed.

Two sets of eight boys to play John, Michael and the Lost Boys, height restriction of 4'10” and two sets of six girls to perform as the junior ensemble no younger than seven, height restriction of 4' 8” are required and applications will only be accepted from dance and stage schools.

Seniors: Senior Boys and Girls aged 16 years and over no shorter than 5'2.”

Choreographer Joanne Day will teach a set dance routine to the dancers on the day.

Peter Pan will be the Marina Theatre's first major professional Pantomime as the venue builds on the success of musicals such as Annie and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, both of which gave local youngsters the chance to perform alongside a professional cast.

Service Manager for venues at Waveney District Council, Martin Halliday said: “It is a very exciting time for the Marina as we continue to attract major musicals and family entertainment, Peter Pan will be our first ever professional pantomime and with a strong cast lead by Emmerdale star Ken Farrington as Captain Hook and GMTV Toonattik's Jamie Rickers as Smee, those selected to appear will receive a fantastic opportunity to step onto the theatrical ladder”.

Peter Pan runs at the Marina for four weeks from December 11, tickets are now available from the Box Office by calling 01502 533200.
