Archant

A heavenly nuns chorus, singing ghosts and a wacky choir of characters from Wonderland are just some of the sounds emanating from Great Yarmouth’s Hippodrome Circus this week.

Triple T Productions are applying the finishing touches to their latest tribute to the world of musical theatre in their production of You Can’t Stop the Beat.

The show billed as “the ultimate musical theatre party” runs on Friday and Saturday, May 26 and 27, and is the company’s third annual show at the iconic venue. A cast of over 40 visit nine musicals in this non-stop high energy singing and dancing show and it promises to be a real celebration of the very best of musicals from the West End and Broadway.

Producer and musical director, Nick Ball is also programme leader for performing arts at the newly amalgamated East Coast College (formerly Yarmouth and Lowestoft colleges) and students from the college are set to perform alongside the adult company in the show. The production features some great music from shows such as the Addams Family, the high energy Kinky Boots currently on in London’s West End, and the effervescent sounds of the 60’s in Hairspray.

You Can’t Stop the Beat is at the Hippodrome at 7.30pm and tickets are available from the box office on 01493 844172 or online www.hippodromecircus.co.uk or on the door.
