Reader's letter, May 19 2017

We have been clearing out my wife's mother's house and didn't know if these pictures where of any interest.
We think they are of somewhere in Southtown because that is where they lived at the time.
Note the different levels of the water (I can only assume that the tow truck isn’t moving).
Jewsons timber drugs were quite common at the time and we used to ride our bikes through underneath them on Southtown Road.

Editor’s note: For anyone who doesn’t know (and I didn’t), timber ‘drugs’ were a type of machinery used to lift piles of wood rather like a forklift truck. One such drug is at the forefront of one of the pictures.
