'Big' Sean Edwards is a much-loved and adored personality in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston.

So much so that more than 250 people turned out to support him following the tragic death of his mum.

Cathy Edwards died on January 12 following a diagnosis of stage four liver and pancreatic cancer late last year.

Inspired by the care his mum received from St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich, Mr Edwards assembled an 'army' to embark on the six-mile roundtrip from the Hippodrome to Caister Lifeboat station.

Mr Edwards' brother Terry said: "Sean was very emotional on the day, but he was so pleased to see everyone come along.

"The reception he got from the crew at Caister Lifeboat was something else. He received a hero's welcome and it is day we will never forget."
