A Hemsby residential and dementia care home has been taken over by a Norfolk care group.

Church Farm Residential Home on Yarmouth Road has been acquired by Ashley Care Group.

The care home already provides round-the-clock care for elderly residents, specialising in residential and dementia care.

However, due to growing demand, Ashley Care Group has plans to expand the services offered at the home to include more advanced dementia care, providing much-needed support for people and families in the local area.

All staff will be retained as part of the acquisition and investments made in the premises and training of team members.

Ania George, operations director at Ashley Care Group, said: “There is a real need for more specialist care services in the local area, so we’ll be investing in additional training for the team so that they have the skills they need to support our residents who have more advance forms of dementia.

“We also know how important consistency is for our residents and we’re thrilled that all the existing team members will be staying with us.

"We’re 100pc committed to providing the best care possible and, as well as additional training, we’ll be updating the facilities and décor to give the property a refresh.”

This is the fifth care home acquisition for Ashley Care Group, which also owns and manages Ailwyn Hall, Fairland House and The Old Vicarage, also in Norfolk.

Legal advisors at the law firm Shakespeare Martineau supported the acquisition, providing transactional and strategic advice on the purchase.

Ms George added: “A huge thanks goes to the Shakespeare Martineau team for their support in this acquisition.

“We are continually on the lookout for more sites in the area, so we can support more people and their families and are delighted to add Church Farm to our growing group."
